TAKING COMMAND! Reclaiming Our Profession
2007 Annual Conference of the
Ontario Society of the
Canadian Association of Rehabilitation Professionals
October 19-20, 2007, Niagara on the Lake, Ontario

Program Overview

In the past decade and a half, the world of Rehabilitation has suffered restrictive provincial financial legislation and the trend to reduce case management services in public and private milieus. At the same time, employers have become increasingly more responsible for the early re-integration of injured workers back to work through WSIB and/or providing work accommodation for those workers faced with medical restriction. With the advent of the aging Baby Boomers, employees and employers alike will be faced with some real vocational challenges in the workplace.
To face those challenges, we as Vocational Rehabilitation Professionals must re-forge the rehabilitative case management role and re-establish the leadership role with a unified voice. The orchestra can no longer continue to play without the Maestro.

CARP Ontario Conference 2007, "Taking Command – Reclaiming our Profession" will explore the present trends in both the public, employer and insurance markets, with the goal to stimulate the drive to re-grasp rehabilitation leadership. Join the opportunity to present ways we can navigate and adapt.
